What People are Saying about the Taylor Study MethodNote: These comments have been copied/pasted from various forums, EPPP-related groups, and other locations and have not been edited for content.
When you released TSM2 (I loved it!) I was generating test after test. I learned many answers by heart. Many questions on EPPP were exactly the same as were on your practice tests so I did not have to think! I knew answers. I did it because I knew I will not have enough time. English is my second language Thank you very much again for your help and being so flexible with me. I do appreciate it very much. I passed the first attempt as you promised." Dr. Kardos Hi Dr. Graham, Thank you, Hello Graham: Jennifer Dear Nick, I got results from my EPPP that I took on 2/10/10. My score is 565. I PASSED! Thank you so much for your incredible help. I managed to do this with the magical help of TSM! I love your program. It is very comprehensive and straight to the point. It just gave me everything I needed to pass. Thank you again. With love and gratitude. Irina I absolutely LOVE the (Multiple Choice Test Question) techniques you showed me. It has increased my memory of the key terms and increased the number of correct answers on the practice tests. I still plan to take the test on 3/22/2010. Dr. Carter Dear Dr. Taylor, Your program is amazing! I will use the study techniques that I learned from your program to prepare for the California Psychology Supplemental Exam. I am positive that I will pass this exam on the first try. Again, thank you for your program and your words of encouragement. Best wishes always and continued success Joyce Roberson, PhD When I emailed you earlier with my concern, I should have added how impressed I am with your program. It has forced me to slow down, and I feel my retention is much better. My confidence grows daily. August 21, 2009 I really do like this and find I’m learning a lot. Thanks for the stats. I can see why this works. Current Member Thank you so much for your help with this issue. I have just printed the cards. You and the taylorstudymethod group went beyond to help me. I will let you know, how things work out for me with the EPPP test. Current Member The price of Taylor method is much cheaper than the AATBS. I agree it is very expensive but this method has proven to be the most motivating for me of the other AATBS. I paid well over $1400.00 for them not to mention the cost of flying to LA for the conference. In the long run it¹s an important investment no matter what you choose. June 8, 2009 This sounds like a lot of 'work'.. as in not the typical read, listen, test, etc w/ the other companies. Do you find yourself learning & retaining the info? June 8, 2009 I have been using the Taylor Study Method and find that it
is a different and good study method. What is
different about it is that there are key terms that Dr. Taylor will help you if you are struggling. He actually called me form Hawaii to clarify. June 2009 I would agree. I took advantage of the free 48 hour trial and was hooked. Dr. Taylor even emails u with feedback on your process. I plan to test in August. After two months of using AATBS I really hadn't made any real progress, so I chose to invest in TSM. No regrets thus far! June 2009 I have used the AATBS method and have all the books
tapes conferences June 7, 2009 I am considering paying for TSM and will be checking out the program and service today and tomorrow. On the program end of TSM, I have wondered if the information is as current as the AABTS materials. From AATBS, I have purchased the 2002 and 2005 sets with the more recently updated volumes. Now, I am ready to stop collecting volumes and dive into examination preparation. The structured aspect of the TSM is appealing, but can anyone speak to the program's content? May 2009 I'm using TSM now as well. I like the structure and they seemed pretty responsive to my questions and requests before I paid. I've only made one request since I started paying and that hasn't been addressed yet. So we'll see. They could use some more advanced IT since it's an online only program. The text editing for flashcards is VERY basic. I'm guessing once I've used it awhile I'll get used to it. I'd like to see the forums used more by members as well. I think that would be helpful! May 2009 ... yes I used the method successfully b/f Dr. Taylor had
his own materials....I May 30, 2009 I'm using this method. I really like it because it is making me very accountable in my study. Also I find the material easy to use. May 30, 2009 I am currently using the Taylor Study Method and find it to be extremely useful for someone like me, who needs structure, a specific study schedule, chunking of vast amounts of material, repetition, etc. It is all done for you. For two years, I was meandering down the path toward EPPP; with life's normal detours. I have purchased AATBS materials, and taken TWO of the 4 day workshops. All helpful. I realized I needed something different when upon retaking a practice exam, I STILL achieved only a low score. I was sorely disappointed in myself and frustrated. That made me want to postpone licensure all the more. Interestingly, the questions posed on this site about the Taylor Study Method compelled me to investigate. I know of Dr. Taylor since he is an alumnus of my graduate school and resides in Hawaii where I live. His reputation is impeccable as far as I know. I think the Don't Pass/Don't Pay guarantee helps. The initial set up fee is $99 and the remainder of $999 is due upon passing or six months. The program: ? ?? ON-LINE information in manageable chunks ? ?? They individualize and prioritize your learning needs ???? They set up a study schedule for you ???? They say when you should be able to take the exam - if you follow the study schedule ???? Practice exams after each module ???? Pre-test ???? Practice Post-tests drawn from 4000 question bank ? ?? A program for creating your own study outlines and flashcards ???? A recommendation for a mind-map system that is FANTASTIC (I am a visual learner.) I previously found looking at all the written material in those manuals I received to be daunting. The bite-sized lesson plans that Taylor provides are just what I needed. They have taken out all the extraneous STUFF (Nice to know) and boiled it down to the Need to know information. Of course, time will tell if I pass or not. But I am visioning passing with flying colors because I feel so much more confident. In fact, Taylor requests that you set a goal of a specific score. I have to say that what pushes me forward is their warning: If you cannot commit to the study schedule (my schedule is approximately 20 hours/week) you are not ready to take the exam. One testimonial stated, "They give you the sledgehammer but you have to do the hammering." May 2009 I was the one who said that the Taylor Study method worked for me (I passed on first try). I committed to Dr. Taylor not to divulge his study method secrets. That's why I haven't been able to give any more details He helped about me and 400 - 500 other people pass while he was developing his program (and he didn't charge us). At the time he didn't have his materials ready so I used his method with the other companies materials......his method helped me know how to use their materials and gage when I was ready to take the real thing. May 2009 I just completed the 9-week Course of Study option of the Taylor Study Method. This consolidated, well-structured, intense process allowed me to cover all of the material necessary to pass the EPPP in the short time I had available. It worked! I'm happy to say that I passed the exam on 12/1/08 – first time! Many thanks to Dr. Taylor and his wonderful support staff at the Taylor Study Method. Aloha, Franco Acquaro, Ph.D. While Dr. Taylor was developing his program I worked with Dr. Taylor in preparing for EPPP and his method was very helpful/effective for me. I didn't know he had finally marketed it for sale. It is most likely a good program -- November 2008 There's a psychologist in Hawaii, who teaches people to pass the EPPP. And he does it for free. Everyone that I have talked with who used his study method passed. From my understanding, he has taught hundreds of people who successfully passed the exam. I took his class, but I'm not familar enough with the method to teach it. March 2007 Thank you for showing me how to use the Taylor Study Method. I took the EPPP on 9/2/06 and passed 1st time!...and I am now licensed. I believe your study method was very helpful for me and made studying for the exam quicker and more structured than would have been otherwise…Thanks again. I am very grateful! Take care - Tyler C. Ralston Dr. Taylor, You gave me the clear focus, the right information, and the unwavering confidence to pass the first time. Thank you, Ray Smith, California |
